I bought some of these 1990s kits last spring but I never see anyone building them are the out of scale inaccurate or what. Would like to know before I start on them. Thanks

Lee,
depends which models you have - some are good, some are bad, no consistency! List them out & we'll see

Which kits are we talking about? Some were better than others at that time.

John that’s OK thanks for stopping in I think JAKKO might get on the trail after he sees my list

ive done a few Italerai kits in the past, and got several more in the stash, including a few from the same vintage as yours.......those i built i always enjoyed and never had any real drama.............although i think they went through a period where the styrene was a little brittle so you have to be a little more careful

So which ones on my list are the worst for inaccuracy? At this point I really don’t care I’ll probably just build them

Strumtiger
StugIV
Tiger
Panzer H
Panther Aust A
The Stu.G. IV and Pz.Kpfw. IV are the 1970s kits, that were really good at the time but are now considered to have a number of flaws (of course :)). However, they build up well and are far better than their Tamiya counterparts (except in ease of construction, of course).

The Panther isn’t a bad kit, but simplified in many ways. I built it 20 years ago or so and don’t remember any major problems with it, other than the simplification I already mentioned and several parts being either a bit too thick or a bit too thin. But again, it builds into a good enough representation of a Panther if you don’t want absolute accuracy.

The Tiger and Sturmtiger I can’t say much about as I’ve never built them, but as they’re of about the same vintage as the Panther, I would expect them to be much like that.

All in all, if you ask me there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with any of them, though more accurate options are available for all of them, of course — for twice the price, if not more.

Lee, I'm with Paul.
No idea either.

I just open the box, put it together, have fun and enjoy my build.

....to each his or her own though.

Lee,
nice spread of models - some last century - some of them have been improved over the years with new parts. The Panther & the SturmTiger are nice models ( some releases of the Panther had Zimmerit! ). They all build pretty well, the only thing I would say is that any vinyl tracks should be replaced ( some models have them, others don't ).
Unless you are a rivet counter, or intend to show them, I'd go for it! :thumb2:

Jakko. Thanks for all your leg work and I think I will start building these kits. At least there not over sized like the Big T

Ron. That’s what I like to do just have fun build Ming and thanks for stopping by

Dave You put the nail in the Coffin. I’m not showing these or I’m a rivet counter thanks for taking the time to give me feedback on these I love the Box Art on these as well. Thanks for stopping by.

Well I think I’m safe from the Gallows on these to post a build Thread when I get ready thanks for all your input

Like I said, nothing fundamentally wrong with any of them, if you ask me. Fit etc. isn’t up to modern standards, but IMHO people complain about that far more than is actually warranted. Anyone who derides an Italeri kit for being difficult to build obviously needs to complete one by, say, SKIF, UM, Revell USA or something like that before their comments can be taken seriously :)

Try a 'Starfix' model! once you've tried one of those, you'll realise what a poor model really is!
