I have just purchased a bottle of humbrol clear it cleary says its gloss but no matter how many coats i put on it always dries matt even over a gloss surface hhhhheeeeelllpppp!!!!.

Take it back to the shop for an exchange Peter. You might have a bad bottle. I bought some based on recommendations on here & it comes out nice & shiny.

Yeah I would say it's a bad bottle. I've used it and get a nice gloss finish after about 2-3 coats.

I hit upon an idea maybe its the kit so i took an older spit and gave it a clean the first pic is straight after painting you can see the right side is shiny and an hour and half later its gone to matt .View attachment 89020
