got this at a local chairty shop ok it's not the biggest i've ever done but i have never done this aircraft before cost a £1 but they were having sale of 25% off toys and games so i only paid 75p barrrrgin!

Your really lucky, that is a bargain. I do manage to pick up the odd kit here and there in charity shops, but what I found recently is most charity shops in my area seem to now charge too much. Recent example, a 1:72 revell military helicopter (cant remember which one!!!) £7.99!!!! You could probably buy it new and sealed for that. The other problem is finding small parts missing when you get it home and open it up, cos they selotape the box shut

As an extra to what Andrew's said ... when i picked up the 1/24 AMT mustang cobra from Oxfam for 99p ... there was the same model kit in another Oxfam for 4.99, still not a bad price but a big difference between the two shops.

I think sometimes there's someone working in the shops that have modeling experience or check prices correctly on t'interweb.

I'm with Adrian. Since joining this forum I go into every charity shop I go past. Never any models. Plenty of Des O'Connor records though.

On the subject i was in the same shop yesterday i saw a nice airfix cutty sark ship in a bottle for 4 pounds but i took it to the till only for the lady to take to her boss as it was in the wrong department 2 mins later she came back and promtly put it up to 5 pounds and she asked i still wanted it if i wasent so polite i would ha ve said what do you think what a difference a day makes

In an ordinary shop that would be breaking the law according to the Sale of Goods Act, wherein the price displayed, eevn if wrong, must be the point of sale price. But I don't know if it applies to charity shops.
