Just wanted to probe the collective professional minds here.

I'm really building up a head of steam with my modelling.

I've picked up some good skills which I've enjoyed.

However, I'm picking up £20/30 models which I'm completing in a 2/3 day window.

So, I'm thinking of spending money on large kits that take longer.

Views?

Thanks,

Del

A very good question. One thing to ask is how much room do you have for display.
Do you cut back or up your game.
I kind of do both. I try to not build too many, maybe also more complicated kits. Once or twice a year I get stuck into something big, challenging and rewarding...hopefully.

I think I have a similar approach to Ian. I try to intersperse simpler kits with those that require a lot more time. 2/3 days for a build is far quicker than anything I've built.

Mmm Del, well as I normally only build dioramas and they can take some time, and using kits in that price range .
You might be interested in building one of those kits with internal parts , more complicated yet still fun that should extend the time by at least 50%.

I haven't managed that in the last 5 years.
I have a few big models that are partly built, with at least another 7 days' worth of work on each, when I get my mojo back.
I have a few smaller ones that required finishing, a few days each.
I tend to work on a model for about an hour at a time, during construction, painting tends to be longer sessions.
