Personally, I think the Japanese planes's weathering have a lovely possibilities. And you show it perfectly ;)

the chipping is nicely executed.


did you use pure black for the cowling?


saw in some forums, the cowling actually has a blue hue ...


some say it is indeed black, but because of the poor quality of paint, it gets weathered off ...

Thanks for the positive comment.


The cowling was painted with a satin Revell Aqua black. It was the only part which I did not put any matt varnish on.


I painted the propeller with Humbrol 113.


I have the Tamiya Zero in 1/48 and the Airfix 1/72 in the stash to do, when the mood takes me.


With those I may go a bit deeper into the minefield that is Japanese Aircraft colours.
