No, I mean Accurate Armour kits. I know that New land Models took over some of the moulds and I have asked them if the have any idea who might of taken over the 1/48 kits, if anybody.Accurate Armour ceased to exist a year or two ago. If I remember correctly Newland Models took over some of the AA moulds.
Tried them, no joy.Did U try Scalemates?
What about their 1/48 models?
Accurate Armour did indeed produce a small 1/48 range (mainly conversion sets and a few full kits).
Important distinction compared to plastic manufacturers:
AA primarily worked with resin (silicone molds)
These molds have a limited lifespan and are less reusable than steel injection molds
This makes transfers or acquisitions much less common.
Who has the molds now?
There is no clear, documented transfer of Accurate Armour’s tooling:
No evidence that another manufacturer (like Tamiya, Trumpeter, etc.) acquired their 1/48 line
No known reissues under a different brand
Their shutdown appears to have been a controlled closure with stock sell-off
Most likely scenario:
The molds remain in private ownership,
or are simply no longer used / discarded (which is typical for resin producers).
Important comparison
With plastic kits, tooling transfers are common (e.g., Aurora molds later reused by Atlantis).
But:
Accurate Armour = small-scale resin manufacturer
→ tooling transfers are rare and often not economically viable
Summary
✔ Accurate Armour did produce 1/48 resin kits
The company is now closed (2025)
The molds have not been publicly reused or acquired (as far as is known)
