Hi folks
I'm just passing through and was wondering If I could get some advice from you guys.
I've got this minichamps BMW R1200CL

For years it's been happily resting on it's side stand, but alas just like the real bike, it's a weighty beast which finally took its toll and the side stand mount snapped

I need some advice on what type of adhesive is going to provide the strongest repair
The break is clean so the part will fix back well.
The model is mainly die cast although they decided to use plastic for this area
Any advice gratefully received

Try a two part epoxy resin or even a two part cement (JB Weld High Heat) or even a combination of them both.
Another method as you say the bike is a bit weighty is to sandwich the parts between two pieces of brass sheet and then wrap in say JB Weld, which should help prevent any flexing..

i have a 1/9 scale bmw bike but all plastic seems to hold up ok but diecast is a whole lot heavier

i still have my class one and pcv but now retired i had a massive car accident sooo can't work
I retired about ten years ago, spent my first six months doing UK work and then got sent to Belgium to collect carpets, that is when the bug really bit. I then spent about 30 years on continental work covering as it was Eastern Block to Moscow, and travel on train to Chinese border four times on trailer accompany. But mostly it was Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece. The last three years were working on regular Coca Cola collection from Milton Keynes to Hemel Hempstead - Milton Keynes reload to Heywood Manchester to Milton Keynes all MacDonalds contracts and home every other day/night.
Hope you have recovered from your accident or are a lot better. Had no serious accidents but did have a suicide drive into the front of my truck on the M1 roadworks where I thought he had taken my feet off, took my mate who was following about ten minutes to convince me I was ok. But in a lot of ways I saw and went to a lot of places, slept in a lot of industrial estates, spent weekends on a lot of beaches and do I miss it - NO!

Eaton twin split, and when you mess it up back to the beginning, climbing Mont Blanc and missing a gear then holding evryone behind you and getting the wrath...

yep split and range change nightmare new drivers have no idea lol i got my hgv in the army scammell commander or crusader

last truck i drove was a DAF 101 manuel
Last Continental was a Volvo FH16 high cab and with all the trimmings except the washing machine... Last Uk motor was a MAN and with auto box, he did get a Merc on trial but it was a pile of junk.

I worked for British Aerspace, and when they sold out to the French(EU) I was left with no job and a handfull of cash, so gave it a try, having driven Bedfords in the Army plus tracked stuff I went for class 1 and never looke back, virtually my own boss.
