Assuming you are building in 1/72 scale. I’ve built the new tool Airfix one and it’s a good little kit but there some errors to it and improvements to make it even better than out of the box.

You can create a decent model from the kit from the box. I’d recommend an Eduard paint mask set at the least. If you have the yellow SAR version the kit decals aren’t as comprehensive as the sheets in the 78sqn/Norwegian Air Force boxing, mostly less of the small stencils that are on the real thing. Some people are put off by the amount of decals on Airfix kits so not such a bad thing.
The kit itself has a few accuracy or detail issues but don’t be put off. If you follow the instructions you should be fine with the exception of the aerial masts along the left and side of the fuselage. The RAF operated two marks of the Sea King; the HAR3 & the HAR3a. The main external difference is the lie aerial arrangement. As a general guide, the HAR3’s were operated by 202 Sqn (with the Mallard alighting sqn emblem) while the HAR3a’s were operated by 22 Sqn (with the Maltese style cross emblem). Number 203 Sqn were the OCU so you may see some of both marks of cabs in their markings (a sea horse emblem).
I spent three years working on RAF Sea Kings so if you need any advice just send a PM.
