A pal, new to modelmaking, is building a 1/12th scale classic Z900, and he's asked me to airbrush the tank and side panels for him.

I've not done anything like this before, so it's a great opportunity to practise on someone else's model, rather than ruining one of my own!

So my questions are - what paint type should I use to get a smooth, flawless, glossy finish?

And, what manufacturer/s produce a good range of said paint type in automotive-adjacent colours? He wants it painted bottle green.

Finally, the kit is white plastic. He's done quite a good job of smoothing out the tank seam line, but it will probably need further tweaking. Would Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black help with this? I've got a bottle of it somewhere I think.

Thanks in advance, folks.

Problem with black is it will alter the shade of the green..... Use a white primer

As for kawasaki green...... Zero paints from hiroboy will be spot on if you like that sort of paint....... If you prefer an acrylic that cheap and easy to get (since you are only doing 3 items) thetes a vallejo air thats a very very good match but cant remember its number...... I used it on a z900 a few years ago
