On to my next build of 2014. The Triumph Herald by Airfix. I Got this kit as it was the car my dad had when he was 17. He did not have a long as the main hose burst and blow the engine and as my mum at the time was carrying me he did not have the cash to fix it :( It still has to be one of the best looking cars from its time.

As you can see from the images there is not a lot to this kit so I thought I would try and do some scratch building on the engine. Its the first time for me doing and scratch building work so only time will tell if its any good lol.

Wish me luck.

Thanks Wayne.

Cool thanks. Yeah should be as fun build. Well might be he says lol With me adding scratch building to it that swear jar will soon fill up and "her who shall be obeyed" aka the Mrs will get a new hand bag lmao.

I have the old tool Airfix DB5, de-flashed, primed and but back in the box...just couldn't bring myself to make it...awful fit.

Interesting build my mom and dad had one of these also sad thing is I remember it showing my age and as you say a nice looking car in its day will be watching nice work with the scratch building.

I've looked at this kit a few times but my last experience with an airfix 1/32 car has made me think twice about getting another one so this will be good to see if it's worth buying :)

It is worth it mate. No reall problems with it other then the bonnet/hood was a little out on one side but just bent it back in my hand took about 2 mins to fix :)

Yeah I know what you are saying bud. There all meh cars today.

My Dad had a Herald when I was about 7, in exactly the colours on the Airfix box. I remember it had a sun-roof which was something of a novelty at the time. Looking forward to your build.

What a great kit and so good to see someone take it on and add a bit of detail. I'm sure it will come out looking superb if your field gun is anything to go by.

I remember the car and the kit coming out!! In my first year at college one of us had his license and he bought an old Vitesse. In those days the Vitesse was the Subaru Imprezza!!...........well sort of! Anyway we used to load this thing up with boys and girls and go out in the evenings and get up to all sort of things that I shouldn't share here. One day we were heading back to college in Liverpool from home for the weekend in Manchester and we developed a flat on the way. My mate driving and myself piled out threw all the luggage on the pavement, changed the wheel and got back on our way before the third lad in the back seat even woke up. He never believed we changed the wheel! Great memories and, as always, great that another model can trigger them.
