I am a bit pressed for time (and money) at the moment. Getting married to my amazing fiancée in six weeks so that seems to be filling lots of my free time. I have however managed to sneak enough 'Cave time' to finish this.

I have a couple of these in the stash but with the new tool soon to be released I'd better get them built before they are relegated to the loft in favour of new ones.

Most of you will be familiar with the kit. Its pretty old, it has raised panel lines, the canopy is like the bottom of a milk bottle and doesn't feature an option to pose it open, but, like the GR3 I built earlier this year, it goes together well and provides a good starting point.

I didn't go mad with the cockpit, just added an Eduard PE Sutton harness. I re-scribed the airframe and cut the canopy with a razor saw. I used the windshield part but the sliding section was so thick it looked daft so I binned that in favour of a vac formed one from Pavla. The aerial is 0.3mm rigging wire with blobs of pva glue painted black for the doofers at either end. I added a few details to the undercarriage and radiator using mesh and stretched sprue. Painted in Tamiya acrylic, a bit of post shading a filter and wash and here she be.

Oh yes the rear view mirror is an etched one from the Eduard Spitfire.

Hope you like!

Really really nice Jason! You do the weathering etc in a restrained way that looks just right to my eyes.

Cheers

Patrick

A great build Jason, I recently completed the same build & like you had to add some extra bracing to the Landing Legs :) .

John.

That's nice I really like that :) ive built this and ive read about the wobbly undercarriage but I never had that problem but I have seven more to build so I'm sure one will have it :)

Really nice Jason. Amazing the difference a vac canopy can make.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, too :)
