I though I would just share some photos of my first finished model for this year, namely the Airfix 1/72nd scale Blackburn Buccaneer S.2C.

Hand painted using a combination of Vallejo and AK acrylic paints and varnishes. It was built straight out the box apart from the additional of a Kelik 3D decal detailing set for the cockpit and an aftermarket metal pitot tube.

The kit went together quite well although I had some fit issues by the jet exhaust, and I found the rear and front fuselage sections differed slightly in width to the centre section. Not unsurmountable problems but it did require a bit of work to correct.

As usual all comments and criticism are welcomed!

This was my third Airfix kit in a row (Sea Harrier, Lightning F6 and then this one) so now I think it's time for a change. Going to have a go at a 1/48 scale WWII model, namely the F4F-4 Wildcat from Academy. Should make a change after all the fast jets I have been building since getting back to the hobby.

Excellent result Gary, especially as it was hand painted. That's not an easy task.
Thanks! I guess I'll have to think about getting an airbrush at some stage, but at the moment I'm quite content to brush paint. It does take some time though and of course there are some finishes you just can't do with the hairy stick!
