Quick one for now... a little Airfix 1/76 scale WW1 Male mk1 tank....
Not many pieces, very simple build, its just a stop gap until I move on to my next big build, still deciding what to make....
This went together really fast, only took me about an hour, Lol, and I forgot to photograph any of the build, and have already primed it!
I will try to get some pics up later, but this one ain't gonna take long TBH.
Planning on a fairly simple paint job, maybe no weathering, or maybe full on mud fest weathering, it will be one extreme or the other, Lol....

Great little kit, i did it a few months ago...... Just watch the angle of the wheely thing on the back cos get it wrong and it affects how the tank sits

Pics, was not sure whether to add the rear wheeled thing or not?

Used CA to glue the rubber tracks, instructions say to use heat, but was not gonna do that!

I am just using the colours recommended on the box/instructions, or nearest I can find in my paint stash anyway....

If I do add the rear wheel thingy I have snipped off the locating pins that attach to the holes in the rear body, as getting the angle correct would be more of a faff that way, and I will just put the tank on a flat surface (or whatever surface I am using) and then CA the rear thing into place at the correct angle. Easy peasy...

Its already made, soz, forgot to take pics when I was building it yesterday! ans its been mostly primed and started the paint process already.

Im trying to remember what the wheely thing was for...... WW2 is my era of interest lol not WW1...... I think it was to help steering

Yeah its not obvious what it actually does?

Google AI says:
"The large wheeled accessory on the back of British Mark I tanks (and early prototypes like "Little Willie") was a steering tail designed to aid in directing the tank and managing its stability on rough terrain.
The steering tail was removed from later models by November 1916 because it was found to be largely ineffective, frequently damaged in combat, and unnecessary."

So it was used a bit like a giant rudder?
Speedy progress Peter, all looking good, cheers
