discussion Airfix replacement parts?

I got hold of the new Airfix 1/24 Typhoon but after reading several reports of cracked canopies I checked and there it was, a crack :-(


I mailed Airfix and they say they have no stock.


Anyone outside of the UK ever had airfix send them replacement parts? Does the buyer pay postage or how does it work?


Maybe if it is to much of a hassle I will have to try and mend the canopy.

Ive used their parts service theuns and it was excellent. I got a eurofighter and the canopy was missing , i e-mailed them and it came in about three weeks free of charge. I know this is in the UK but it shouldnt be any different anywhere else. I would send them another e- mail asking for a replacement canopy when they get them in stock again. I would also stress that this is a big expensive kit and without the canopy its virtually useless, so if they cant get you a replacement then how about covering the cost of buying the vac form one in Si's link above . I reckon they are very reasonable so you should get an answer and hopefully resolve the problem , cheers tony

I got a reply to my question when they might get stock again but was just told that they dont have any stock so I would just have to wait a few months, thanx
