Even if my work was at your standard, I wouldn't have the balls to enter a competition. So very good luck to you.

Very nice work on all 3 Steve:).
Have a good time at the show.
Ralph.

Very nicely finished and presented. How they do well for you in the competition.

Steve that is a shame because i thought your shilka and its presentation was spot on.

Such a shame. Your models looked very good. There were some very good models on display. So much inspiration. Also made me think about maybe entering next year.

AAhh balls. Are you told were you dropped points ? any sort of feedback ?
Nope you get nothing as the judging is behind closed doors. Speaking to someone else who entered models he was well miffed as he watched the judges and it was a cursory glance and onto next one, which I can sort of understand as their are hundreds to get through. But then i suppose their will be more than one judge per section. Guy who won gold where my shilks was ( Rosnek? Apc) had been entering comps for years and never got anything, but every competition he entered this model in he wins gold. So who knows. Not bothered as at the end of the day I build them for me.

Unlucky mate never mind still a fantastic couple of models so well done

I've recently tried to get to grasp with what, why and how they score/judge the models on a competition and apart from failing miserably getting som understanding it seems it's all down to personal preference to each judge and not some well defined rules and guidelines. So not winning doesn't mean not good enough - just something else... ;)

I do wonder how many modellers "careers" have been broken by competitions?

I still think the real winners are the modellers who're happy with their models and can watch them every day at home! Like yours Steve!

Your right and I think it' subjective, like art and not judged like an exam. And you maybe right about modellers giving up, not me though as when you see a , what I think is a stunning model, not even get a mention, yet a tractor win gold you realise it' not your day
