Hi Steve

Will let you know by the swearing lol.

Hi Paul

It can only go pearshaped lol

The StuG's orginal design purpose was to support infantry and not a tank killer, but when fitted with a 7.5 cm gun it was a excellent tank basher!

Due to bombing raids when the Alkett factory was badly damaged they used the Pz IV hull with a StuG superstruture to replace the loses, the StuG IV. Otherwise they did the StuH in 1942, this mounted a howitzer for infantry support. Otherwise you had the jagdpanzer IV, Hetzer 38 T, both like the StuG no turret but not infantry support.

Hope this bit of info is ok, anymore just ask

Bob

It was built by Karl and his mate Carl, thursday afternoon 14th March 43. Would have been built quicker but Carl had a dodgy bratwurst and was afraid to cough.

Right lets get on with it! The tub/hull is different than the Pz 111 M and after one sides suspension arms fitted perfectly me thinks, Takom must have listened and altered the mouldings!! WRONG started on the other side and every arm had to have its locting key/ peg altered with a knife to make it fit, bugger! However got there and hull almost ready!

The superstructure fits very well, thank the lord!

Now a question??

Do i add wheels, tracks, paint and weather, then add superstructure or

Add superstructure as usual etc, etc

Need to have a good old think, me thinks

Bob

I’d add the superstructure etc. but leave off the wheels and tracks, only putting those on after painting.

I would dry fit all the wheels Bob and check the tracks are long enough. Then take it all off again and carry on as Jakko says

Do you have no shame Sir. Tis a thing of beauty, i do need eye test shortly!
No sorry , none at all :nerd::smiling3:.
Do think though Bob you should write to these manufacturers and offer your knowledge, it's a shame they can't get these important details right .

There are others with better knowledge than me John, but with Muller and Zimmermans books they have no excuses. I think they find it cheaper to use other sprues despite the mistakes!

Might top up my pension lol. I just in a nerdy way enjoy the research

The sloppy research done by these companies is unacceptable, it's not as if they are newcomers and the kits aren't cheap .
Anyway it's fun being a nerd !

Totally agree John, all they have to do is ask Muller/Zimmerman, they are very helpful and are both good guys to know

No sure how much a sprue costs but lazy is the word
