Hi all this is the waterford crystal Chandeleir I have to clean every year (and no I cant lower it down like Del boy did) we had a pheasant in here one year (it burst through a window during a shoot) it knocked a couple of the big crystals off it cost £500 pounds for 2 new ones. the whole thing is suspended on a very shallow hook (god knows why) and I am always worried I will make is swing too much during cleaning it and it will come off the hook.

:(

It will only fall once ;) :D
No Tel, I'm sorry but you're wrong. You could pick up the bits and drop them again as many times as you like! :D

Best of luck with that one Ken! Is there no way you could secure it to the hook with wire perhaps - even if it's only temporary while cleaning it?

I cant get a set of ladders anywhere near the hook as its in the middle of a stair well ( I was lucky when the pheasant got in the broken crystals were nearest to the stairs).

I know the feeling every year my mom asked me to lower hers so she could clean it, I remember one year she broke one of the stems, as they were Austrian crystal she had to order one in and it took 6 months to arrive.

Not sure what to do with this one when I sell up, I can't see it been put up in a rented place and I'm not leaving it here for the buyers to claim.

Not a great picture it's much better when cleaned and the sun shines on it :)
