discussion Aqueous grey surfacer 1000 primer

Some time back I reviewed the aqueous surfacer 1000 black primer from my point of view couldn't fault it ,recently had no motivation seemed to be going through the motions ,dont know why but have gone back to grey hoping to then pre shade with nato black ,with the black primer ive been colouring out using the black exposed as preshade.
Any way the aqueous surfacer 1000 gray a treat to use started 60 paint 40 thinner but finished up happy using it 50-50 ,one mans poison chalice i know but it worked for me I never touch my compressor I thin to suit the air pressure currently set at 20psi but let air through the needle drops to 18-17 every man to him self. Great product lays down a treat not going to recommend thars dangerous ground when it comes to this sort of stuff but I've taken the pictures
Air brush used was sparmax with a .3 needle brilliant little air brushes for the money.



As I said found it easy to use up to the individual if they fancy giving it a spin out. Dave

That looks very good. Up there with the best water based primer - Stynylrez.

Thank you Jim but this is about the mr hobby aqueous surfacer never used that other stuff just telling the guys how I found it if they fancy giving it a go ,if that other stuff is that good do a product review . Dave

Thanks for the review. Very useful. What I meant was that the Mr Hobby primer reviewed here, your findings and the accompanying photos, show it is an excellent product, worth considering. The reason I mentioned Stynylrez is that it is the best I've used and the Mr Hobby, judging by your experience, is of equal quality. I would certainly try it out given your review.

Once my Vallejo primer has run out I'm looking for something else....

That said I've got to grips with it now....50/50 primer/thinner like you. Primer wise I spray at exactly the same pressures as you.

Andrew as I said with any product you can't really recomend it ,but there it is , its what I found and how I got on with it ,had I struggled say ,I would still have said but once again others might have thought diffrent of the product.
At the end I was using 50-50 ,im no wiz with the airbrush every session is a new lesson it never goes the same as last time ,but at least I'm somewhere near for next time. My biggest problem and I'm sure some of the others is working at the correct range and making the paint appear where I'm pointing the bloody thing ,still its the good builds that make the ones that go wrong not half as bad.
