Hi people this is my latest effort, hope you like, comments welcome good or bad. A Airfix kit 1/72 Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk V. I was well pleased the way the kit went together no problems a enjoyable build, one of Airfix better kits. The markings are for Squadron Leader John MacDonald No.102 Squadron, No 4 Group (Bomber Command), RAF Driffield, Yorkshire, England, March 1949.


Iv put a few pics of the stages of the build on lot of time spent on the inside, dont know why its never seen, but i would know if it was`nt done and would bug me.View attachment 246248

The general colour looks fine, and the paintwork on the canopy is excellent

Nice model, but I'd try to apply a flat coat on it, it's too shinny!

Nice work Colin. Like the others, I suggest a flat coat over the top would make the finish more appealing. Good weathering effects. Also I think you'll find the date for this aircraft is more likely to have been 1940 or 41 rather than 1949.

That's a cracking looking kit, but if you don't mind me saying I personally think you need to apply some matt varnish, just to take some of the shine off overall though a cracker.
