Hi

Just got sorted with an AS-189 Compressor and Spraymaster ABR1004 airbrush (0.2 needle fitted with spare 0.3 needle).

Questions:

- What pressure should I be setting the regulator to?

- Should I swap out the 0.2mm needle and replace with the 0.3mm needle (modelling 1/48 scale aircraft)?

Any help or advice will greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Phil

Pressure depends on what pattern you are spraying. For normal painting i would go about 18 - 20 psi. For mottling i try and go down to 12 psi.

i presently have a 0.3mm needle fitted and it does everything i want it to do. My opinion is that if you go any smaller then there is more chance of the airbrush clogging up.

I'm with Allyne on the needle size. My two main airbrushes are 0.3 and 0.35 respectively and spray to a very fine line. They do occasionally clog,no matter what I do,but the finer the needle/nozzle the more often it will happen Those pressures are a good starting point but you will need to play around with your pressure and thinning to find what works best for you.

Cheers

Steve
