From what I read of it the B17 HIT a airport hut when comin into land wonder what happened

Tragic. Engine trouble shortly after takeoff. Struggled to make 800' so went around & tried to land where it struck the hut. Luckily, an off duty firefighter on board had his fireproof gloves with him & assisted in rescuing other passengers. A lot of burns & broken bones. PaulE
