I've finally got this one done.
It's the Bf109F-4 of the title. It is reckoned to have been the 14th aircraft that Marseille flew and has the Werknummer 8693. Despite Marseille only flying it for a month in February 1942 he was credited with victories 37 to 52 in it. I've posed it in flight around 21 Feb 1942 when his 49th and 50th victories were marked on the rudder.
Here's my normal "walkaround" composed of the usual dodgy photos!
A port,rear view showing the rudder.
A port view,notice how they masked the the oil cooler warning stencil when they sprayed the pannier RLM04 (yellow).
Starboard front view.
Starboard rear view,you can just about make out the external strengtheners.
Lower front view,not something you'd want to see in the rear view mirror of your Hurricane or Kittyhawk!
Top view,boring camouflage scheme.The Balkenkreuz were flaking like that.
The kit was Hasegawa's 1/32 kit and like all their large scale Bf109s it is a superb kit and a joy to build.
