HI Rick no to get that crane workin it would take 3 servos one to to swivel the crane from left to right an another servo to pull the jib up an down an another to work the winch to pull hook up an down an not enough room for all that to fit in so im afraid my freind all that work doesnt justify the means LOL AN FROM 10FT AWAY you wont hardly notice it an i know you ya devil is windin me up lol

WOW Doug that when we had a navy brillant picture an HMS TIGER IS THE 5TH SHIP up the centre row just after HMS Feerless an it looks like some forien ships there as well am i right ? an CHEERS for posting this picture

The Grenadier Guards would be proud of the spacing and line!!
Years back I saw a picture post WW1 of the fleet in Weymouth Bay, the whole bay too!!!! Impressive.
I bet the grey paint suppliers have noticed a change in paint quantities supplied to the RN post WW2.
That’s from the days when we applied the two power standard Chris…….. basically our navy was expected to be at least ten percent bigger in capital ships as the next two biggest navies in the world combined….
Not only great spacing, but I bet they were all freshly painted as well Doug.
You can put money on that. Every 1st Lt would have a paint party over the side painting until the Royal Yacht was in sight. I bet there wasn't a rust stain anywhere on any of the war canoes.
HI RAY I just found some long linked necklace chain an put it against the plan chain an found it was about right so i used it as this is just my opinion ray but dont take things to seriously as building a ship model can be very tryin as i found out on all my last 8 big models as i think its impossible to get every part like the real ship part something near enough will do in my opinion but most impotant is to enjoy the build as i freely admit my tiger an my norfolk have got parts on that just match to near enough on the plans so i go with that

Perfect...and good advice...I admit to getting a bit bogged down with detail close up in my shed.
Then I realised I have to put model outside, step back and look at it as it will look on the water a bit further away...

WELL Ray when she's on the water not many people will be able to see much detail an not many peple realise what the correct parts are anyway so why worry only time i had an enqiry was up Norwich pond an i was sailing my 1/72 HMS CAMBETOWNN TYPE 22 FRIGATE BATCH 3 AN this chap says to me that ive got the crew figures in the wrong clothes as i had them in black trouser an yellow windbreakes yea
an i said what do you mean wrong an apparently he was in R/N an he had just left the ship in malta hourbor an flew home an he was sayin we wear whites uniform an i told him that my ship is sailing home to portsmouth an she in the solent where its bloomin cold so my crew figers had cold wheather gear on an the chap shut up an just walked off but thats the only time ive been questined on a model so RAY how you build your model is up to you an you stick at that

I adhere loosely to the "2 foot rule" in 1/87. Looks OK at two foot viewing distance it's just fine. I imagine at your scale, in the water, 10' viewing distance would be most common.
