discussion Bombardier 415????

Hi all

Unfortunately back from hols however after seeing this bird take off daily from Puerto Pollensa in Majorca I would like to have a go at building one as one of my next projects.

After a quick search on the net I understand that it is marketed in the U.S as a Superscooper and manufactured by Canadair.

I was wondering if anyone would know of a model available to make such a build?

Is this the firefighter that scoops water as it skims over lakes? I have seen them on Discovery, amazing flying, must be a hell of a drag when the scoop hits the water.

This is the one Graham, the first time I saw this bird was last year and every time I see it make a pass to scoop up a load I am amazed. At times they will complete practice runs and dump the water back again.

I was fortunate that our hotel was within stepping distance from the base where it is kept hence why we got to see it frequently. Sometimes we did not know it had gone out and later in the day came a sudden roar as it flew low level over us from over and behind the mountains!
