Who wants one?...

Straight from the Horsa’s mouth- the new Bronco Models Horsa Glider in 35th scale…

So you have you Bronco Jeeps, British Red Beret’s 6 pounders and airborne equipment – all you need now is a glider to bring em all over the channel in now – Well Bronco Models is bringing out a new tool 1/35thscale Horsa Glider to complete the diorama of dioramas!!

New from Bronco Models Horsa Glider A.S.51/ Horsa Mk.I in 35th scale!

Before now we have had an Airspeed Horsa from Great North Roads and a mooted Horsa on the way in CAD form fromMasterbox – both of ‘em looked great but an all-new Horsa from Bronco models? Sign us up…

A short into video..

The new A.S.51 Horsa Glider Mk I from Broncos promises the glider only right now – noting added as of yet than that and the box-art. We could have predicted this coming though as for a while there has been a build up from Bronco with Jeeps. Several airborne 6 pounders and the equipment and not to mention a lot of “Red Devils” (paratroopers) as well – everything pointed to this and a wonderful dio of the D-Day landings or Operation Market Garden

The ideas for Dioramas are really swimming around my head for this one – fully laden Horsas ready to go…

And gliders unloading their burdens safely landed in France

And some that didn’t really make a smooth landing…

And with all the funny graffiti on them..

I have waited a long time for this particular kit and completes a whole range of British Para kits I've been collecting for years. A series of Market Garden builds is now on the cards (well, maybe starting next year).

For anyone interested in the plastic, here it is...

I've placed a ball point pen by the wing parts to give an indication of scale. If you think of the 1/32 Revell He111 the size is comparable.

Cheers

I saw it, the other day, on the model shop :)

New era? Slowly...but we start to have some 1/35 aircraft ;)

Because of the size of this kit I think what I'll probably do is cut it up and use it in several dioramas. One particular scenario could be the famous shot of German Marder IIIs passing the crash site of a Horsa with a wing stuck upright in the bocage hedgerows, others include several Market Garden scenes with the main fuselage or removable tail.

Lots of diorama options!

Cheers

Got mine for around £85 (inclusive of postage). On inspection of the kit I think it's reasonably priced for what you get. The interior is detailed and it is a big kit. Used as I describe above you can even stretch it's value.

Just thought I'd give my first impressions on seeing the plastic in front of me.

Cheers

It looks very nice Paul, and I like your idea of using it in a few dioramas rather than one huge one
