Really looking good Mike and you did deserve a laydown for sure. Quick question, what is the hockey stick thing in the brackets (last pic) used for???

I never have too much luck with tool brackets and getting them to work. Yours look fantastic!!!

Thanks for the comments, well received.
Getting them to work was just me being silly, they will be c/a'd closed once the job is finished. The hockey stick is in fact the track tensioning tool, I think you stuck the thick end into the front between the track and the hull and then pulled down on it, that then moved the ratchet a notch at a time and tensioned the track. Just had a look online and got zilch returns. But the kit instructions show the ratchet, part E20. But one of the wizz kids on here will advise us.
Hows the MP3 player, I have an old Phillips cd player to blow my eardrums out.

Update,
Just spent a couple of hours assembling the lights and periscopes. These additions are all from the Voyager set.
Lights, I started of twith the back half of the kit lights, then to make up for the loss of the kit front half which has the moulded on light cover, I added a 1.5mm ring cut from a tube and added that, then painted the inside 'Chrome'... Next came the lich cover itself with slot already in it, and finally the cover. I was going to make them all nice and neat but decided that it would be more attractive to put the covers on off centre...
Periscopes, these are made up of three etch parts and one clear. The etch that holds the clear part was removed from the fret and then the fret had some gentle heat applied to soften the brass and make it more pliable when forming the shape of the round body. Next the glass holder was folded and c/a'd in place and once dry the glass was cemented into place with pva glue as this dries clear. The top was then folded over and c/a'd. Last was the top cover which was bent to shape and with the periscope body cemented in place to the hull, the cover was added and c/a'd in place.
Also added were the Besa barrel muzzle, and the half moons for the tow cable to wrap around.
New sidelights were made and shaped from plastic rod.
Next are the drivers and machine gunners hatches to add...

Why do dogs eat rubbish!! :rolling: My collie cross will be 15 soon and she is amazing for her age, still goes for long walks everyday. She has recently been diagnosed with a kidney problem so now on a special diet and medicines which cost just over £100/month and yet her favourite nibbles are rabbit droppings and discarded take-aways. Go figure!

I'll remember that for when I glue something crooked :tongue-out3: Only joking - you're far to skilled to need excuses.
The PE work is brilliant especially those tool clasps.

Hello Jim,
Dogs - with our two being Hounds, one a full blown Basset and the other a Basset/Beagle cross, they will eat anything, and I mean anything, favourites being 'droppings' wether animal or human. They treat rabbit dropping like Maltesers, hoovering them up... Mavis the Basset stuck her head into a load of undergrowth and came out with a corpse of something, turned around and was heading for home tea in mouth, on another walk came out with a dead rabbit, still warm..... and Nell the cross is just as bad....
The reason behind the lamp covers was i remeber having to put on something similar when we were going out driving in IR, and one of the guys put his covers on upside down.... showed the 'enemy' exactly where we were....

Update.
The hull construction is now complete and is actually in auto primer of sorts. This is a brand I have not used before and has come out a bit on the thin side, mind the cold weather may not have helped....
So here are some pics of the job before it went into the paint shop. I did add the side guards after the pics...





Now for the turret...

Update,
Work on the turrtet commenced today, after a flying session around Sainsburys - do the wrinklies wait around the corner waiting for me to arrive and then see how many can actually get in my way??? Arrived at the checkout and there she was, sorting out the shopping, gossiping etc. Turned to me with a toothless smile "Sorry am i holding you up?" "That's ok" I replied "My ice cream is melting, no problem..." "But you do not have any..." "I told you it was melting...."
On with the build....
Spent a productive afternoon cutting and bending brass ready for fitting, sanding off the details that need to come off, you know the drill, will get these on later. I kept looking at the bin lid behind the turret, sorry but i just could not live with it as it is, so....



...made a new one.

Update,
Turret, the reason the turret has been ignored is to save getting mixed up and forgetting items to be added, plus breaking parts off and then losing them.
Here are some pics of the near complete turret, the construction should be finished tomorrow...
