Hi all;

I've lost count of how many less than half used CA glues I've thrown away because the nozzle gets clogged - what a waste! Any tips or ideas on how to stop this?

Hi, couldn't you unclog the nozzle with a needle?

Cheers, Andrew

Possibly - but once the glue's dry, it's bl**dy hard

Snapper 41 I had problems similar to yours with the original stuff I obtained.

Have now gone to Locktite. They have a much better system & have not had any problems. The plastic container has press pads each side to push out the glue. Presumable when you let go after getting the glue you need the vacumn formed pulls back the glue left in the nozzle.

B & Q do a good range of Locktite glues thin thicker & brush on.

You do buy expensive cocktail sticks Richy! :lol

Get a pack of 12 tubs containing about 100 each from the local Poundshop.

Hello:

Either I just twist the dried glue off with a set of pliers, a razor blade and after each use I wipe clean with a double folded paper towel. Take care, Jeff

Alternatively, buy the 10 packs of superglue from the pound shop, when they clog bin 'em

I put a pin in the nozzle that has been smeared with WD40. Works fine for me. A smear inside the cap stops that from being stuck as well.

Just to warn on cheap superglue.

The tubes they are put in are not safe. They are not cheap either when superglue accidently squirts into your eye. Superglue works by using moisture ie water. The eye is full of it. They are not child safe.

Loctite & others have a difficult procedure for releasing the glue & in only very small portions. They are also realtivley safe as they need good strength to squeeze the glue out & the container is very tough.

In short superglue is extremely dangerous.

To be honest I'm sure any superglue container isn't childsafe. whichever brand you use It would be a very good idea to keep it away from tiny fingers. I taught my 5 year old Grandson that it's very bad stuff and he is in no doubt that playing with it is not an option
