They look some kind of sandbag type Alan, I would paint them a stone/beige colour.

Nice R75 Alan, love the paint job and weathering.

They're supposed to be bags of sand tied at the top and laid out flat

Thanks guys , it makes sense them being sand bags

Si it's the first time I've done this colour scheme on a German vehicle before and when it was first painted I thought it was way too yellow so I gave it a wash of brown to dull it down and left it then used dark earth for the dust effect I think it came out ok

Next it will have some lichen sticking out of it to give the effect of it being stuck in a hedge
 
Watch what you do with the lichen Alan, when we judge it we might act like tools and think it's too cliché and trying too hard...
