Wayne, just noticed your avatar......

The Spitfire looks very much like the one I sat in at Lytham St. Anne's earlier this year ( FY*F) and posted some pickies on here!

As Allyne says its a Piper J3C-65 and flies with O'briens flying circus

Just stick the ID number in google and you'll get a list of sites that have info on the plane (or any plane)

It's an Auster by Taylorcraft Mk vi I think superceded by the AOP9 model. This looks like a model to me . Look at the prop retaining nut very closely. Does this help>?

its not a model. that picture is one of a few on the internet from o'briens circus as I said.

just Google it .... it looks a good show.

Having worked on a few that is most defenately a Piper J-3. Most fly standard with a C-65 but here in Africa most fly on at least a C-90.

The thing on the front of the prop is actually a spun alluminium "cap or spinner that fits just over the front prop retention plate. It protects the 6 prop bolts and looks a little nicer.
