Just to confirm the fact of not taking the renewal as gospel.

Insurance renewal forms came today for the 20th of this month, gave me a £258 quote for the Volvo. went onto go-compare and the cheapest was £161 ...... yes you've guessed it ... with the same insurer ... a quick phone call, gave them the reference number and its all sorted.
