I've seen some lovely work on here, but this has to be one of the best, excellent scratch building at it's best, there is so much to look at and take in, really looking forward to the next update Richi;)
wow Richi,I think this comment by Tommy summons up what i would say,

just superb, :D

would lov to know how you made all the hinges for doors and gates,

loving this one, ;)

C'mon Richi, don't keep us all in suspenders! How did you fill in between your stones and get such a fabulous result on the colours?

Mate that is incredible work, and so realistic looking, I like this a lot.

Hi Gern,

I made a test piece and tried different stuff but here is what worked the best for me,

as a filler i used light spackle normally used with rc planes, i coated the bricks with a thin layer and waited about 10 minutes, then i took a thin sponge (1 cm) that was glued to a piece of wood to keep it as flat as possible, sprayed some water on it and started to wipe the cork stones clean.

After each 2 or 3 wipes i cleaned the sponge and repeated this until i was satisfied. After about 2 hours i went over the cork stones with a small flexible steel brush to get covered up details by the spackle back and let it dry for 2 days.

By cleaning the cork stones with the steel brush i got an irregular color of the stones with shades of brown and white which was perfect to get a base grey tone that vary in color (like a pre shading)

For the paint, I used a dark grey base tone mixed from white and black from reeve's acrylics and sprayed it with the AB, after that was dry i used a lighter mix to gave the stones the first grey tone, at the moment its a medium blue grey, but that will change if i build up the different grey tones to create depth.

Cheers Richi

Hi Moni,

I used my computer to draw the hings and then i let the machine cut them , after that i drilled the 0,5mm holes.

Glued them in place and put a piece of sprue in the drilled holes.

After that i cut of the sprues and heated up the ends to get a bold end.

Cheers Richi

Lots of work then, but worth every minute Richi. This just gets better and better. What is this machine you refer to for cutting out the hinges?

Thanks Gern,

Its a plotter machine that draws on paper cuts vinyl, paper and plastic, got that machine some 9 year ago in a garage sale.

Help me allot with scratch building projects.

There was an SAS raid during ww2 on a town and castLe in Belgium. I have many pics of it... You could do that.... Just a suggestion

Btw, stunning work

Hi John, thanks.

I am intrigued by that, can you tell me what that operation was called?
