Well, this took a while longer than hoped, but I've finally got a satisfactory result

G-AMAU is the racer guise of 'Last of the Many', the final Hurricane to be buill, a Mk IIC. In 1951 she was sponsored by Princess Margaret to fly in the Kings Cup air race, and flown by Group captain Peter Townsend. He came second by about 60 yards!

This is the older Airfix IIB, which I got free and just had lying around IMG_3102.JPGIMG_3096.JPGIMG_3097.JPGIMG_3098.JPGIMG_3099.JPGIMG_3101.JPG

'Last of the Many' still flies with the BBMF today

Beautiful turn out on this one great job. I like that Gold spinner matches the decals and accents the whole model.

Um, those aren't decals. I couldn't get the old Lifelike set
All the gold went on first, then I hand masked all the stripes and lettering, sprayed the blue on top. Check out the build for the nightmare I set myself!

And a fine job you did. A very fine job. Mucho impressed!

Wow. Impressive stuff Chris with the lettering, I was like Lee and thought you'd managed to find some.
Think it's worth

I am, as ever, truly honored. My thanks to the Committee.

Wait. Does everyone think I used transfers? Blimey. I didn't think it turned out that good!

Fantastic result chris , looks superb . Top work on those tricky decals too:tongue-out3: (only kidding !)
The masked , painted serials and striping look fantastic , a very difficult job to do , even more so in this scale , excellent stuff , cheers tony

Superb stuff - I've never seen that one built before. It came out really well.
