The Ye-2 was one of the first of a series of MiG-21 prototypes, first flown in February 1955. To test wing efficiency, it had swept wings, similar to the MiG-19
This is the Trumpeter 1/144 F7-II, a Chinese derivative of the MiG-21 F-13, the closest thing I could get to an early -21 (though it still needed a LOT of modification), with wings from the Attack MiG-19






the book, BTW, is Yefim Gordon and Bill Sweetman's 'Soviet X-Planes' published in 1992
