what can I use to clean the airbrush after using Klear ?

I use water then Mr sticky's thinner then another good flush with water. Not sure if it is right but it never gives me any issues.

Any proprietary AB cleaner will do - I've had really good results using Mr Muscle window cleaner.

Just as Terry says water water and straight away. Depends on which brush you are using as well.

H & S brushes are easy to dismantle and I would do that. Iwata not so easy to dismantle and I just keep flushing through ending with a cup of Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.

This may seem daft, but why spray Klear? It's a self levelling floor polish at the end of the day! I've been brushing it on for years with no adverse effects

I wash my brush in a very dilute solution of ammonia and rinse with water.

Humbrol "Clear" designed for the job applies well with brush and airbrush. Good varnish and base for decals. Plus it is more robust than Klear. Plus it does not cost £15, it varies, a bottle.

Plus cleans up well with products designed for the purpose just like any other model making paint varnish.

Try using spirits or cellulose thinners if you are fining serious problems although stay away from the cellulose ones if you have a chinese copy AB also concerning clear, I use the humbrol 125 mL version and it has better value for maney and is a great gloss medium.

Klear is just an acrylic gloss varnish and will clean up like any acrylic. Anything with ammonia in it (some glass cleaners contain this) will work well.

The reason Klear became popular with modellers was because it was cheap. When I started using the original old style Klear you got a 500ml bottle for about £5. A typical 60ml bottle of model varnish would cost around £5 to £6 pounds. That works out at roughly TEN times the price of Klear which was therefore VERY cheap. In the last ten years I have used less than two bottles of Klear and I make large scale models at a decent rate, interspersed with some smaller ones too...you should see my loft. I have also had at least one significant spillage That's well less than a tenner for all my gloss varnish for ten years!

Now that people are selling Klear for ridiculous prices it doesn't make sense at all. Just do as Laurie says and buy a gloss varnish.
