We have covered ideas for successful masking of your models here, however for those people who would prefer to go out and buy a successful product that will do the same job there are several commercial masking films available on the market.

The most popular and for that matter the one that is easily available is called 'Frisket' masking film, this is obtainable in rolls from artists suppliers or graphic art material stockists, this is a clear film complete with backing paper that can be easily witten on,and then cut out with a craft knife when laid onto a self healing board or even scissors.

The adhesive film is very gentle and does not mark the paint surface, any adhesive that is left on the surface can be easily removed with 3M cleaner,a very useful product in itself which removes various types of sticky film.

The film can be used with both enamel or cellulose finishes but as always with any masking it is not advised to leave the masking in place for too long after the job has been done, best to remove any film either when half dry or when fully cured for best results.
