discussion creating a mesh covering ?????

Hey everyone I am looking to recreate the mesh as seen here for a 1/12 scale f1 model.  Any thoughts on how to go about it????View attachment 260826

A small tea strainer cut in to squares and then use something with a dome (I like to use a pen) and mould it over it and cut off the loose bits

What scale are you working to? As Mark points out a small tea strainer mesh is great for fine mesh as is buying some 1/16 grille mesh. Larger Aluminium mesh, bought in sheets for a motor factors is ideal for larger scale or applications.

Get to poundland - other outlets are available  - and buy a set of 12" dia. splatter guards. The mesh things that sit on top of a frying pan. They make great mess thingies and shape readily to whatever you want.

Another possibility is the meshes used for needlework, tapestry and embroidery sort of things it comes in a range of sizes.

This is the sort of thing I have in mind,  also very useful for gratings, mesh walkways in industrial situations etc.
