Hi I don't get how they decide what to charge on and what not to I ordered some rope for my new ship from Canada total value £199.87 and got stung for £73 import charges, I also ordered some blocks and stuff from Canada also, value of £123 and got charged nothing for import? do they just drop on certain items and its the luck of the draw if you get stung or not?
Regards Brian

Customs are very odd, bought kits and stuff from Japan, nothing. But a ship cradle from Taiwan hit by customs. Do wonder if its lucky dip sometimes. Also Never been hit by customs when buying from China? Bought the 1/200 yamato from France, nothing. But had a letter from the courier a week later demanding about £60. Apparently the courier has to give you the bill when they delivered but he did not. So they broke the customs rules, ignored the letter and nothing since, phew!
