I needed a Tornado GR4. No body now produces them. Then Si came up with one on Ebay coupled with an Dambusters Lanc 60th anniversary. I won it. Cheers all round please.

Removed the Tornado and offered to Si the Lanc. Good man, like he is, said no I would not be able to build it. I have built one and I am not going to build another. It is all in its packing not touched and complete. I am very happy as I have all that I want out of it.

And so. I thought I would offer (no charge postage included to UK) to the winner of a quizz, Si has given me some questions. So watch this space as they are coming.

One stipulation the winner has to build and show it here on this forum.

So here we go. Note runs for 24 hours. It is not the first to answer. If there are more than 1 to answer correctly the questions then another question/s will be posed.

Sorry about the rules but I like rules.:mad::mad:

SI's questions. Cheating will be allowed in moderation.:eek::eek:

I have removed Si's answers as this will make it more competitive. :D :D:D

1 Q: Some statistical trivia: the crew of a Lancaster was normally 7. Pilot, Flight Engineer, Navigator, Wireless Operator , Bomb Aimer, Mid-upper Gunner, Rear Gunner. Which of these positions had the highest survival rate from Lancs which were 'downed'?

2 Q:To the nearest percentage, how many Lancasters were lost in action?

3 Q:The most operational sorties flown by a Lancaster were carried out by ED 888. How many missions was she credited with?

4 Q: How many Lancasters were still flying at the start of the 21st century (December 2001)?
:(

5 Q: Many Lancasters were delivered from the production line to their squadrons by pilots belonging to the ATA service. What did the letters ATA stand for?

Those are Si's questions. applause please .

Only names beginning with the letters A to Z are eligible.

Si will be the quiiz master. Oh hell :( did he not do well.o_O

Answer to question one, the one nearest the black box, answer to question 2 pi=6-2/3+4. Answer to question 3 one less than ed887. Answer to question 4 a lot more than at the start of the 18th century. And the final answer 6.

So when do I get the kit.

Looking at the questions Si, having the answers, it looks dead easy.

Patrick did well.

If not I could give out a random answer every now and then. Nothing, of course, to do with the question. Fairs fair.
