My first post here, and i'm having to bug someone for a few answers already :ohno:

My father has collected quite a lot of the 'Nitro Racer' magazine with the parts to build a vauxhall astra. This one:

http://www.deagostini.co.uk/nitroracer/

I have every magazine up to 67 except issues: 16

32

33

34

35

and 44

I have a few questions, I would appriciate it if you could take the time to answer them please :goodluck:

1. I presume I can order the back issues that are missing off of their site, but is there anywhere else I could get the parts cheaper?

1.aWould it be better getting the parts that I am missing from somwhere else?

2. If getting the parts from somwhere else, where would I find instructions on what to do with the parts apart from the step by step in the magazine they would have come with? (This is the first RC car I have built/attempting to build)

3. If I ordered them from DeAgostini's site, how long would it take for them to arrive?

4. What are the parts that come with the above issues? What types of screws fixings parts etc....

I havent found any of the issues that I need on ebay at a reasonable price for those issues and parts, as I only need the 6 issues mentioned above

Thank you very much in advance for your help, and I hope to hear from you soon :0)

Answers to questions

Right then, here are the aswers to all your questions.. But for a start this is just a forum to chat about the nitro racer You need to really get inot this project by calling deagostini and asking them to send you those parts. I dont see why we should know how long it would take, that depends on stock etc. There number is 08707299399. How did you get all the other issues. Because if you did the project properly then you should have the car ready and running propery by now with all the magazines.

1: try ebay, off deagostini they cost 5.99. What you need to do is type in alpha in the catagory toys and games. Because deagostini have just taken a car made by kyosho. and sold it a hurendous price, in parts. You can see this car at the following site: TO SEE THE CAR CLICK HERE Or you can visit the main Kyosho site: MAIN SITE CLICK HERE As you can see there is a difference. Deagostini give you a slower engine (gx12) instead of the gx-15. You dont get proper suspension (shocks) wheels, exhaust nor bumber but these are given to you in a extra series from issue 67 to 75. (call deagsotini) However you do not get the good engine in the extra issues. About 75 parts will come up on ebay and you should be able to look around and find them parts there.

1a: It is entirely up to you where you get them from

2: Unless you get the magazine with the parts you wil not get fitting instructions. You can e-mail me and i will send you a file with the magazines in it so you an look and print them out, but you will have to e-mail me about that. CLICK HERE TO E-MAIL ME

3:I would say about 2weeks

4: I will post later of what these issues contain

I hope this helps

Cheers

Hi I'm currently trying to build the astra and I would like to ask if you could tell me which parts come with the issues below:

It's this one

http://www.deagostini.co.uk/nitroracer/

I have every magazine up to 67 except issues:

16

32

33

34

35

and 44

My father had a subscription to them, but has lost the mags and parts due to moving from a nursing home to a flat to a warden controlled place etc.... then lost his subscription.

Thats why I'm missing so much :(

I believe you can build the car and run it by issue 60, and then onwards it's just upgrades or somthing

Thanks for your help, and letting me know what the forums actually for (oop's sorry guys :o ) )

what kyosho parts model shops have will be the last of them because ripmax don't deal with kyosho cars anymore,so the best place to get them from is ebay as there are alot of parts for that car on there.

Hi thanks. It has been sorted now.

Deagnostini are sending me the missing mags for free :)

Cheers

Hi Dark,

Try E-bay, there is a guy called Gary on there who has a proper shop and does all the parts for this car, (and others too I might add). You can either buy on e-bay or phone him direct or even e-mail him:

e-mail address is SALES@HEMINGFORDRCCENTRE.CO.UK

His new website is under construction at present but look for him in the e-bay shops and you will find him.

I have done business with him on e-bay and have been very happy with his service, he does have a proper shop tel number on there too.

Regards.....Mark

ebay is the best for most model scale parts

Is anyone else halfway through their collection and has stopped being sent them?

I haven't had any for about 2 months now.

Yeah im exactly the same as you mate.

I contacted deagostini the other day and the only response i got was that 'they are out of stock and they dont know when the stock will come in'.

So i said can they keep sending me the issues they have and send me the out of stock ones later on.Answer no.

So i then asked when(more likely if)they come in stock will they send them more frequently so i can keep up to date.Answer no.

they didnt want to know and if you look at the deagostini website the link to the nitro racer site has gone.

I think its going to have to be ebay from now on,which is a bit crap as i didnt want to start building until i had all the parts.

cheers jason

well if its no longer on their website its most likely gone bust

Well ive spoke to diagostini again and ive found out that the only issues out of stock are numbers 45 and 49.

Every other issue is in stock.

So i was told to cancel my subscription and order as many as i want by credit card and get the out of stock ones when they come in.

Just means building cant start until all the issues have been obtained.

Or just go to ebay.

There are plenty of parts for this car still available on e-bay, I have mentioned one link above and he has new parts on for this car on there every week so worth a look, he is reliable too and very prompt with delivery...There are other shop dealers on there too with the parts...all brand new as well.

I just got the whole Manifold and tuned pipe assembly on e-bay on Sunday night, it arrived yesterday morning (Tuesday)

Mark.

Also shops will still now be getting parts for kyosho cars as the french distributors for kyosho parts from japan have decided to start a company over here to bring parts from there to send to model shops, the french distributor is called FDL but can't remember what they called the company over here but is run by a world champion buggy racer and some french guy.

We done the electric one before the nitro (Glow) pricey but my son said he learned more this way than building his schumarcher chassis the "mission" and "mi2" now he has a reference to turn to in the form of these magazines.

I'm building the monster truck one from hachette as it's the only way i can get one as my money is always needed for something and buying it weekly is a way of getting it,but does cost more this way but who cares as i don't.
