Hello

Having finally accessed the contents of my Decal Fix I have started applying the decals by adding Decal fix before and after.

Am I ok then to varnish on top of the whole surface, with, in this case, matt varnish? Is there any special technique please?

And I need to trim one of the tail decals as it's hanging slightly over the edge. Any tips here would be appreciated too please.

Many thanks

Aidan

Its not a problem to varnish over a decal once it is fixed and dry. Use light coats of varnish. As regards trimming the decal, not something I have had to do after fixing. A picture of the problem may be helpful. You will only get one shot at this and the advice needs to be right.

Aidan. I have also had this problem with over size decals.

Now cut the decal very close to size & try dry then trim before fixing. But have used in the case of a problem as you describe a Morton knife cut then finger nail scratch. On the bit you want to remove !!! All before varnishing obviously.

Actually, looking at that pic - it's not showing much. Lighting? But there is a considerable amount of overhang on the decal.

I trim decals like that when they are completely dried. I use a new and therefore very sharp scalpel blade.

Cheers

Steve
