I think if the Spit wins, and we will very soon know, Squiffy should have to make a pink one.

So the Spit wins then.

Squiffy to make pink you need to mix red and white.

Has anyone started cutting styrene yet ? I have just dug out a 1=48th scale kit from my stash to take a look at.

searching

Hello all, I've started the search for both the Spit & 190 early days yet but I'll let you all know when I find them and how much they are. I thought that I'd manage a day of telephone searches as the schools were closed today and i had to take the day off to look after the kids, spent moere time making snacks and sorting games /toys than on the phone . Typical wasted day at least at the office i could have managed it lol

cheers

Jim

barry, john told me to come to you. this "poll" has become a shambles of all sorts. we need a new thread, with the preivious 2 deleted.

the new thread needs to show the results of the poll and exactly what we are doing,

eg....are we getting our own kits or is some one getting them all and sending them out?

rules....etc.

Why do we need a new thread ? the results are as follows as per the poll above-

Preferred type-Spitfire.

Scale-1=48th.

Timescale- 3 months build.

Choice of kit and source of supply is up to the individual.

There is already a separate thread for placing details of your build as you go along if you wish, also if anyone needs assistance as to aircraft details, colourschemes etc.

Thanks, wonwing'. I asumed one of the group was sourcing the spit. No worries. I'll nip out in the morning and do some spending. I have already mixed the pink paint!!!! :)

I won a Tamiya MK1 on Ebay for 12.50. (Well I knew the Spit was going to win!!)

***Well done Richard, very appropiate as it is the 75th birthday of the initial Spitfire development this week, the prototype flew some 70 years ago.

If we buy on e-bay, how do we know we're not bidding against eachother?!

*** That actually happened on one group,a rare kit came up and three people who knew each other were bidding against each other unknowingly, the only way around this would be to know each others E-bay handle,a difficult one.

If we buy on e-bay' date=' how do we know we're not bidding against eachother?![/quote']

I wouldn't bid against anyone else for one. If you see one and there are no other bids on it try for it.

The one I got had a "Buy it Now" option so I was happy to purchase at the price I knew was a good one.

Ebay is just another option for you to bear in mind as you have a look around at all the possibilities.

Ive created a thread for those that need to buy one, please check "chit-chat"

Off_Topic: Richard, can i ask which seller you got that from?

*** Well it is an authentic colour for the Spit, look forward to seeing it when completed.
