discussion Diecast interior updates

I've got a 1/43 vanguard diecast model car that I am looking to be visually correct compared to the real thing. The main thing I want to do is to remove the mounded rear seat, as the real car doesn't have one.

Hi mate, pics would be helpful, I assume its a metal outer shell with some sort of plastic interior? Does the outer shell come off easily, eg: screw, rivet, etc?

these are usually riveted but have seen them using locating tabs

Ah!, but how? Razor saw? Scalpel? Dremmel with a cutting device? and do it from the underside or the top, or both? This is the bit I was looking for advice on. as there is only 3mm between the back of the front seats and the front of the rear cushion, so space to get a tool in is limited.

i would suggest a dremmel finish off with a sharp scalpel and some sanding sticks or paper for the edges

As above, whatever you can get in the space really, if you can get a dremel type device in there, then it will be faster, but if not a small razor saw or similar, but it will take longer, then tidy up any rough edges with scalpel, sanding, etc.
