Just a quick question while I'm watching Family Guy...

Does anyone build dioramas? I have a some ideas for a few and wondered if I was alone in this.

As much as I like to build/paint the main part of the diorama (i.e. the vehicle whether it be plane, jeep, tank, whatever) I also like to add some story around it.

lol the short answer to that Drew is a resounding 'yes'! You'll find a good few examples in the gallery & I'll point you in the direction of a few of the chaps like Ron (spanner570) who turn out some impressive work. Have a search through the threads and you'll see quite a bit about building dio's. Patrick

Hi Drew1612 , there are no set rules to modelling or doing a diorama you can use your imagination or make something with a historical meaning either way you will get praise or help if you need it from us , I`m still working on my 1st dio and it does not have any real meaning apart it could be anywhere in northern Europe , but my next dio will be based in the Ardennes which for ive ordered the correct tank and will try to follow the right camo colours

The world is your oyster mate , go for it , and keep us updated .

Thanks for the replies. I have some ideas already for some.

I am ever so slightly obssessed with the Vietnam War Era (seriously iot even goes to movies and music) so I have a couple of Vietnam war dioramas planned (although I guess a 1:35 scale Huey would be kinda big!!).

I also have a diorama planned with a 1:35 JGSDF Light Armoured Vehicle (painted in the colours of a private military contractor of my own devising) and some Trumpeter PMC models.

I'll have a look through the gallery and see what's there.

Thanks again.
