Having thoroughly enjoyed my previous builds, which have been Dog Tag figures, I found this dismantled in a box and thought I'd give it a re-paint.

It's not as nice as some of the other figures in the range, and the kit head is terrible (no doubt the reason it is shown in profile on the box). I've therefore found a Moz Corry head, given to me by Ralph, which should look a bit better, and a Trumpeter helmet to be hung from the belt.

Stripped down as best it can be after two days bathing in Mr Muscle:

I find that the paint tends to get ingrained in the filled and sanded areas, but this will be OK.

Peter,
Beautifully painted as always, but it is probably just me but the torso looks to big for the waist.

Thanks Scottie

It's a pretty odd sculpt to be sure. The waist will hopefully be bulked out by the equipment - pistol, helmet etc.

Hi Peter
Beautifully painted as always but the sculpt is rather odd. I think you may be right with your thoughts that the equipment will disguise the small waist.

Hi Jim

Yes, you can see why it was photographed from the side for the box art (and you should have seen the original face!). I quite like it though, and it's certainly enjoyable to paint.

Peter.
Nice face, agree with Paul and Jim about his waist being odd but hey we're all different. Mind anyone stuck in a T34 for sometime would emerge looking slightly odd :smiling:
Sure you will make him look good by the time your finished.

Morning Peter

Looking good and he definitely need to eat some pies! LOL

Should be a good day to get close to a finish?

Is there a base too?

Perhaps a vignette?

Have fun with the paint

John - Also dug out a PPsH to hang at waist level, which should help.

Steve - Definitely meant to be seen from the side this one. Progress will be slowed by presence of granddaughter - a nice distraction.

This one's finished:

Apologies for the quality of the photos - poor light at the moment.

I decided to paint the helmet a khaki colour in order to bring it forward a bit. That, and the pistol holster has bulked out the waist somewhat. The hand holding the binoculars is something from the spares box, and a better match scale-wise than the other options I'd tried.

Ralph, Scottie and Si - Thanks very much. Glad you like him.

Morning Peter

Its all coming together nicely and a lovely mixture of colours too.

The sculpting "issues" are diminishing with your well chosen accessories.

He does look quite pensive, I wonder what he is looking at?

An opportunity to attack? or a pack of panzers?

Well done.

Enjoy the weekend and the company too

Regards

Steve H
