just bought myself this kit with some money from my birthday and have just opened the box...ffs did i make a mistake, i have never seen a kit with so many parts and a bag of miniscule things that are supposed to make tracks, funny thing is that it says easy tracks on it and they look anything but easy. actually scared to even touch them,nearly 600 parts..........this one might have to go back to the shop, what do you think,anyone done this kit

actually ,i just dared to look in the box again and it dosnt say easy track, it says magic track,hope they can magically fix themselves together

I would say go for it. Separate link tracks might be a scary thought but the results can be spectacularly good. The secret is the right tools and the right attitude.

Just take your time and stop when it get to you. No one says you have to build the tracks in one go do they? Just be careful with the knife when trimming and the glue when you stick them together.

Looks a good kit.

think i was just shocked when i opened the box and saw all bits inside, it says for advanced modellers on the box.lol

includes windscreen masks and brass etch, the thing that stands out is that whilst looking quickly at the instruction sheet , it seems to me as there are parts made up of 5 or 6 pieces that would normally(on most model kits) be moulded in one piece.probably explains why there are 580 parts.lots of very very small bits easily eaten up by the carpet monster with my big fat hands..gonna give it a go and resist taking it back. but let my skills get better first.

Stick with it mate , I`ve got the same thing with a Dragon sherman firefly I`m doing , tank went together a dream but can`t get my mojo going for the magic tracks yet , as the guys have said you have to be in the right frame of mind to tackle them , another word of caution read the instructions and study the kit then do it again and again , although dragon make 1st class kits the instructions need some work to suss everything out as they tend to leave bits out and then you`ve got the various options to choose from , on the plus side you will get loads of bits for the spares box once your done .

Got to say i have this kit along with another variation and the tracks made me look twice, it is of putting, i even thought of buying some metal tracks instead, but once you get going the results arent that bad.

I agree with Richy there! After I had built one of their Shermans, I had almost as many parts left over as I had used in the kit!!!! And Yes the instructions could of been a bit clearer in places, lol

Personally I think the worst with the single link tracks is the cutting and cleaning. Rather boring and needs doing very carefully. A disaster waiting to happen.

I am sure that once you get your head around it things will go just fine.

If you feel intimidated and worried about loosing small bits get an old white double bedsheet (or a new one if you can get away with it!) and put it on the floor around where you are working. You are in with a better chance of catching the odd bit that makes a bid for freedom then.

the whole thing intimidates me,this one will be in the stash for a while i think along with the gato class sub thats about five foot long and my little modelling room is only four foot wide
