That PE really adds to it Alan & you've done a great job.

I hear what you say about rattle cans, but I'd definitely have a try at spraying that one. Short bursts & you can't go wrong! ;)

Time for an update , I've been quite busy of late and only been able to do bits on this but I have now finished the engine section bar weathering it View attachment 87618

Also I've built the midships section , this was not fun , large gaps all down the sides and the centre detail had to be cut down by quite a bit View attachment 87620

just a little bit of tidying up on this section and I can prime itView attachment 200641

Cheers Adrian , if it wasn't for the hard work you have to put into a resin kit this would be finished

Thanks again and I'm pleased you like it :)

I like those engines Alan, this should turn out very well. How big is the kit?

Cheers Patrick , it will be 16 inches long which is quite big for resin :)

I like what your doing. I have never worked with resin. Not sure I want to either.

Cheers Kevin , resin I found is an acquired taste and takes a lot of skill , something I'm lacking in so I'll just be pleased if it turns out looking ok :)

Cheers Adrian that does look good and I'm going to do something similar but with smaller and more spaced mottling :)

So I've had a chance to get back to this after a busy weekend and the build is complete just needs sticking together and paintingView attachment 88438

And now my mistakesView attachment 88444

As you can see the top angles don't match one is at a steeper angle to the other View attachment 88445

These two pipes that are stuck to what I think is an intake well there should be four but two of these were so full of flash and bur that during the clean up they just got so twisted and bent they were no good

I think with these resin kits, you've gotta expect a little bit of error Alan. You're not alone in your struggles!

But I think it still looks great & will be awesome with paint on it.

Those 'pipes' are actually laser cannon if memory serves.

I'm with Patrick, Alan...don't expect an excellent fit on a resin kit :)

Anyway looking very good!

Cheers folks I pleased you like it :)

I don't know about glueing these things together I think using plastic filler would do a better job and solve a few problems along the way :D
