I have in the past used Face. Book and some of these. Other so called freindly chatty things but at the end of the day they are a waste of time and effort and I'm 47 ( no use for them )

My ( family ) say it's a brilliant way of staying in contact ......,,, what a load of tosh that is ( today's recipe, look at me making a fool of myself etc etc etc.

Maybe I'm getting too old but my wife agrees it's a load of rubbish

Facebook is not for me

( however I have followed SMS before )

Never been on it, doesnt interest me in the slightest, the only dealings i have had with it is people telling me theyve had a fallout over something trivial they said on facebook and someone took exception to it. It sounds like there is some useful stuff on there but this forum has all i need personally. Btw i had ham egg and chips for tea and ive just been for a poo

I had a bacon and mushroom omelet and I will be having a poo just after drinking my mug of tea then it's back to the bench for an hour or two. Not doing much, just going through the motions ;)

It does seem odd that most of the replies are against it for exactly the reasons I suggested that it needs not be used for rather than what it can be usefully used for, hey ho :D

Ralph, on the left hand side, somewhere, you should see Groups. Click on that and then in the search ' find friends' box type 'Scale Model Tutorials and Guides'. This is a closed group which means someone will have to accept you, doesn't take long. This is a good safe group, and I am in it. This will be a good start. Remember, any group you join or page you 'like' can be left or unliked so there is no worries

I had an account and oddly enough I just signed on for the first time in years... then signed right off. I have relatives on there and some group interests, but the groups get repetitive. As far as family members go, I tried something really off the wall the other day... I called her. It's my only aunt on me pop's side and wanted to ring her up about something. Had a nice chat and that was it. No muss, no fuss. Much better than typing crap out, and never once did we talk about where we ate breakfast that morning, and I didn't bomb her with cute, bunny pics.

So as far as Facebook goes... no thanks. Had an account and ditched it. One less distraction in an already way too hectic life. Dumping Facebook is one more step in simplifying my life.

Very rarely use it or even log in. Bearing in mind I have friends and colleagues from work all over the place, it as been useful for good things like significant birthday celebrations or not so good things, as when someone passes away.

I phoned someone today to check his availability for some work and he was busy, and in Las Vegas! I said I didn't know he was in the States and he asked why I hadn't checked on Facebook? Apparently we are friends there and he regularly posts where he is and what he's up to, I just never check :)

I must be getting old!

Cheers

Steve
