Believe me when I say in my job there are a great many people I would just like to slap black and blue but, you just don't do it or you get the boot are you willing to lose a well a great deal of money and a cushy job to endulge that feeling. Beside like people have said he is a very public figure, how would it sit with anyone here if our kids just started doing it and used the excuse clarkeson did it and got away with it.

You are very right Scott. People like Clarkson and some of the prima donna footballers seem to think they can physically do what they want and they do get away with it. Why they do and are not prosecuted I am at a loss.

The law of the land is you do not physically attack any other person unless you are defending yourself or others from the attacker. A smack on the lip and having to go to A & E is not on.

If I went along and smacked Clarkson on the lip all hell would be let loose. The producer thought he had lost his job according to friends and his family are going through hell. The poor chap has not said a thing nor complained to the police.

Finally, and this is what for me sums up the fellow, he has shown publicly not an ounce of contrition to either the producer, the produces family, the BBC or his fans who according to some here are distraught. One can only surmise that he is very selfish and cares not a fig about any one else but himself. Why not he has after all millions in the bank for which he he has no doubt his single loyalty in life. He just could not care less.

Laurie

Just add. What if it had been on the other foot and the producer had smacked him on the lip. Every one would be saying sack him.

I do find the hypocrisy at the BBC staggering. A Director General once bit a man and kept his job. They have protected peadophiles for years.

One presenter got the sack for stuffing half of Columbia up his nose yet they had him back!

I don't think they can be credited as a moral compass for the nation!

As for Clarkson, striking someone is probably not the best way to get your point across but he is a monster of their own making. Most of what he is criticised for would have been approved by their 'compliance' department. The nursery rhyme incident was a farce. It was leaked by an internal source! Already stinks of a fit up job to me! Then they get the alleged word analysed by a sound specialist whos final opinion was that he couldn't confirm the word but the cadence of the sound he made indicated that he may have said 'the word'! Wonder if that would stand up in court?

What I see is another cheap victory for sandal wearing, vegetable waving, liberal fascists who like to tell us what we should be thinking and saying (anybody else read Orwell?) and love nothing more than to be grossly offended at everything on behalf of everyone. The BBC is a slightly darker colour of sickly beige without him. And like it or not, a lot less representative of the population it is supposed to serve.

Still they've got plenty of other highly paid presenters all climbing over one another to be the most politically correct. Let's see if one of them can earn as much money for all of us license tax payers!

Just my opinion though

Jason that was the best discription of the bbc I have ever read ;)
Thanks Alan, all my own rant!

You'll miss it when it's gone.
Not sure if I will John! I like to hear what people actually think, not the agenda they're trying to spoon feed me.

What I find truly nauseating, in this holier-than-thou stuff from the BBC, is that the sex-obsessed Ross and Brand are back working for the Corporation. To me, that smacks of double standards of the worst kind.

Exactly Edgar. Just listen to the patronising nonsense that Brand spouts. Champagne socialist if ever there were. But he fits the Agenda so that's ok.

Ive been trying to think of another program I watch on the BBC , you know I can't think of one , I used to watch Russell Howard's good news but after three shows of his last series it seemed he had gone from poking the fun at everything to using it as a political mouthpiece for the far left ,

I can't wait for the BBC to go pay as you go then I won't have to pay a TV licence :)

I'm a cab driver and I pick up a lot of corporation employees. One of them once told me that admitting to voting Tory at the allegedly impartial BBC could be seriously career limiting. I used to like Russell Howard but I agree with you Alan, can't watch it anymore. Don't get me started on the news and question time. Both about as impartial as a Nuremberg rally!

Funny how some waste-of-time footballing idiot can BITE other players, and there's very little fuss, and he STILL gets mega-millions in pay for kicking a bag of air around.......

Now HE should have been SACKED.
