Female modellers?

At my branch of MAFVA we have a lady modelmaker.. Does some armour models in both 1/76 and 1/35 scale and has been known to turn out a wingy thingy on occasion.
Used to work with some lady modelmakers when working in the profession, lot of them went off to make babies.

Oh obviously there is no shortage of modelmaking ability- I always liked to have at least one girl in my team-it kept things MUCH more civilised!
It's just not really surprising that there aren't many women who are actually interested in our ,mostly military, subject matter. If you look into the doll's house world you will find a much higher proportion of female craftspeople.

It's not so much the talking but more the volume, where it is directed and the subject. Too often rather loud, directed in my direction and involves phrases such as "It won't take long" or "We've had the paint for six months" or "I've nothing to wear. We'll just nip out to (insert name of shop selling female attire)"

I too would say in the figure painting realm there is a very large community of women painters, and incredible they are. I could never match that natural talent, but they are truly inspirational. I have also seen quite a few AC builders, but not any tank builders.

T'sall good, I wasn't into crashing their party, so to speak. Ya know, sewing or ironing, or,...............talking.:anguished::smiling5::smiling6:

Rick that is one of the best replies I've ever seen , if you could have the dogs for that it would be given .
However I don't think Matron would be in agreement .

My wife would get a gold I'm sure for railway tracks in trousers!! She's got it so she can iron double creases in trousers in her sleep.
 
The last time my wife ironed my white shirt for Remembrance Day I praised the Powers That Be I had two brand-new spares; I'm not saying she can't iron shirts but ... Paddington Junction comes to mind .... otherwise she's perfect!

Mention ironing and the world goes very quiet - "Don't you have any others you can wear???"
Then it is grunt and groan as the 10 ton ironing board is struggled out of the cupboard, then same again for the iron. And three hours later I have five ironed 'T' shirts....
She goes out to visit grandsons for the day - I get the ironing board out, iron loaded with water and getting hot, get the clean clothes basket from upstais, sort out and turn her clothes back the correct way, then start ironing - three hours job done and all put away....
Comes back from grandsons - "Is that all you have done all day - sit and watch you tube....."
