discussion fibreglass dent/crease removale

i was working on my large (no name boat hull) , and was removing the frame work from inside as the nitro fuel had unstuck the glue , were the frame work was to wide for the hull it had pushed the hull out and had left several outward dents in the fibreglass, so armed with my travel iron (used for appling solar film to my planes) i applied some heat to the area of the dent for a seconds , enough to soften the fibreglass so that it could be pushed back to it's proper shape , this can be done severall times on one spot untill you have it to your liking , now i have a hull with no dents , this method could also be used to reshape those flat bottomed fibreglassed hulls that always seam to concave , or any misshaped ones like my hms rodney hull which is out of line on one side.

Good tip that Paul, will remember that one for future. I always thought once fibreglass was set that was it.

myself also thought this was the case with fibreglass, i`ll keep that in mind and might invest in an iron for the job.
